Eric Granado
Born on 10 June 1996 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Eric Granado is a jack-of-all-trades.
He began his career in 2003 by winning the Sao Paulo Regional Championship. After winning the 80cc title in 2008, he raced in the pre-125 and 125cc classes in the Spanish and Mediterranean championships.
In 2011, at the age of 15, he finished fifth in the CEV 125. In 2012 he moved up to Moto2 with the JIR team just before the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. At just over 16, he is still the youngest rider ever to compete in a Moto2 race.
He moved up to Moto3 in 2013 before entering the Moto2 European Championship in 2015. The following two years were marked by good results, culminating in 2017 with six wins and the title in the final race at Valencia. In 2018 he returned to the Moto2 World Championship with the Forward Racing team on a Suter but left the team before the end of the season.
In 2019 he accompanied the launch of MotoE with the Avintia Esponsorama Racing team. He had an impressive first season, taking two wins and finishing third overall.
A quiet seventh in 2020, he returned to form in 2021 with two wins and another podium, although a disappointing final race relegated him to fourth overall. In 2022 he was again in contention for the title, but ultimately lost it to Dominique Aegerter.
For 2023 he was aiming to become the first ever MotoE World Champion with the LCR E Team, but despite his best efforts, four podium finishes including a win in Italy, he ended up seventh due to injury in the World Superbike Championship, which he was contesting in parallel with the MIE Racing Honda team.
For 2024 the SHARK rider has a busy schedule, as well as challenging for the MotoE crown again, he will be competing in the Brazilian Superbike Championship. He has raced in the Brazilian Superbike Championship in the past, competing against a certain Alex Barros, who was also loyal to SHARK during his Grand Prix career.
