Miguel Oliveira
Born on 4 January 1995, Miguel Oliveira began to shine in the Portuguese Mini GP Championship at the age of ten. After coming close to winning the Spanish 125cc Championship in 2009 and 2010, the native of Pragal made his full-time Moto3 Grand Prix debut in 2012 with the Estrella Galicia 0.0 team.
The Portuguese rider quickly secured a podium finish before moving to Indian manufacturer Mahindra. Recruited by the Ajo KTM team in 2015, Miguel took his first two wins at Mugello and Assen before breaking his wrist.
Despite this he finished runner-up in the World Championship, opening the doors to the Moto2 category with the Leopard team. It was a difficult start, but Oliveira managed to finish third overall in the intermediate category in 2017.
The following year he finished runner-up to Francesco Bagnaia in the World Championship, before moving up to MotoGP with the KTM Tech 3 team. Despite a shoulder injury that kept him out of the last two Grands Prix, the Portuguese rider finished 17th in his first season in the premier class, with an eighth-place finish in Austria his best result.
It was at the same Spielberg circuit that he took his first MotoGP victory a year later. He then spent two seasons with the official KTM team.
Although he added two more victories to his tally, he did not improve his final ranking. In 2023 the SHARK rider joined the Aprilia camp and the RNF team.
Unfortunately, success was not to be. Having injured his knee at the start of the championship and his shoulder again in a collision at Jerez, he had to wait until the summer to regain a satisfactory level of fitness. He then finished a fine fourth in Great Britain.
Unfortunately, after finishing fifth and sixth in Barcelona and Misano respectively, his season came to an end with another injury in Qatar with two races to go.
Now recovered and with the same bike as the two riders in the official Aprilia team, Miguel's only ambition is to return to the podium. To achieve this, the SHARK rider can count on the resources of the American Trackhouse team, which has taken over the Aprilia satellite team.
